Important Note: A 2-hour evaluation is required before booking half-day or full-day daycare sessions. This ensures the safety and harmony of all dogs in our care. After completing the evaluation, you’ll be able to book daycare sessions without needing another evaluation.

🐶 Overnight Boarding: No evaluation is required, as dogs can be housed individually, allowing flexibility for longer stays.

No, you don’t need updated vaccination records to book a reservation. However, all required vaccinations must be provided before your dog can enter the facility.

You can either bring the records with you on the day of your dog’s stay or upload them anytime between booking and their visit.

🚨 Important: If the required vaccination records are not provided before check-in, your reservation will be canceled, and a no-show fee will apply. This may also affect your ability to book future stays, so we strongly recommend ensuring your dog’s vaccinations are up to date in advance.

Yes! You’re welcome to bring comfort items, toys, and walking equipment for your dog. However, we have a few guidelines to ensure their safety and well-being while at Sunrover.

You can bring toys or personal items for your dog’s kennel time. Just provide clear instructions, including:

• ✅ When should the toy be given? (Certain times only, or anytime?)
• ✅ Are there any small parts that could break off and become a hazard?
• ✅ Should the toy only be used under specific supervision?

⚠️ Important Notes:

• Toys are only given during kennel time, either alone or with a designated playmate from your household.
• Toys will not be used during group play for safety reasons.
• If a toy becomes damaged or unsafe, we may have to dispose of it to prevent harm. If you’re worried about losing the toy, it’s best to leave it at home.

If you’d like us to use your dog’s personal harness or leash for walks, you’re welcome to bring them! However, for the safety of your dog and our team, we do not accept:

• 🚫 Choke chains or correction collars
• 🚫 Shock collars or e-collars
• 🚫 Any equipment designed to tighten, restrict, or cause discomfort

A Dream 30 Years in the Making 🐾 

For over 30 years (and for 10 years with Dustin), Jeanette dreamed of opening a dog daycare—a place where pups could play, socialize, and be cared for like family. That dream became even more important when she lost her beloved dog, Kaze, to cancer. Kaze had been her constant companion, her adventure partner, and her source of comfort. Losing her left an undeniable void.

In Kaze’s memory, Jeanette became even more determined to create a place where dogs would be treated like family, where they could live happy, fulfilling lives filled with play, care, and companionship. That’s why Kaze’s image now hangs proudly in the main waiting room—a reminder of the love and devotion that inspired this daycare.

When Jeanette and Dustin got married, they made a promise: if the opportunity ever came up, they would make this dream a reality.

Then, right around the COVID-19 pandemic, a rare opportunity presented itself...a property in the Sunriver Business Park became available. Finances would be tight, and the timing wasn’t perfect, but Jeanette couldn’t ignore the possibility. She brought the idea to Dustin, unsure if now was the right time. But without hesitation, he looked at her and said:

“This is what we’ve been saving and waiting for. Let’s go for it!”

And just like that, the wheels were in motion.

The property was in high demand, with several interested buyers vying for the space. Knowing how much this meant to them, Jeanette and Dustin took a bold step: they wrote a love letter to the landowner.

In that letter, they shared their lifelong dream of building a dog daycare and explained that this wasn’t just another business venture—it was their vision, their passion, and their future.

Their heartfelt words resonated with the owner, who ultimately chose their offer, agreeing that a dog daycare was exactly what Sunriver needed.

Overjoyed, Jeanette and Dustin packed up their lives in Washington, sold their home, and moved to Sunriver to bring their vision to life.

Once they secured the land, Jeanette threw herself into making the daycare a reality. She wasn’t just the visionary behind Sunrover—she was there, hands-on, every single day.

• She was on-site almost daily, overseeing construction and ensuring every kennel, play area, and outdoor space was built with the highest standards of safety and comfort for the dogs.
• She handled every logistical hurdle, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and inspectors to keep things moving, even when delays piled up.
• She advocated for pet owners, making sure the facility met every need—from climate-controlled indoor spaces to carefully designed playgroup setups that prioritized dogs’ well-being.
• She personally selected every feature, from flooring that was easy on paws to fencing that provided both safety and freedom for play.

Her commitment to getting everything just right wasn’t just about opening a business—it was about creating the perfect home-away-from-home for every dog that walked through the doors.

Despite her tireless efforts, roadblocks emerged at every turn:

• Permits and approvals took months longer than expected due to county delays.
• Winter weather slowed construction, making it difficult to pour concrete and complete outdoor spaces.
• Unexpected rock formations beneath the property forced excavation teams to adjust plans.
• Inspectors were hard to schedule, and approvals required multiple rounds of adjustments.

Through it all, Jeanette and Dustin never gave up. With each challenge, they found solutions, pushed forward, and kept their eyes on the goal: opening the best possible daycare for Sunriver’s dogs.

After years of dreaming and months of relentless work, Sunrover Dog Daycare officially opened its doors on January 27, 2025!

From the first evaluation to the first overnight guest, the response from the Sunriver community was overwhelming. The excitement, support, and patience from dog owners made every challenge along the way worthwhile.

Sunrover Dog Daycare is more than just a facility; it’s a passion project, a lifelong dream come true, and a tribute to a beloved dog whose memory lives on.

Jeanette and Dustin didn’t just open a business; they built a home for dogs to play, thrive, and be loved.
